My mom had this on her counter, and we've had a devil of a time trying to figure out what it is. I think it's one of those quickie projects you make from ribbon and fat quarters.
Wow, I had to take a moment to really ponder this one. Until I saw that the carry handle opened flat into the inside of the case, I thought it was a tool carrier. I think that with some strategically placed elastic, it could still be that -- for knitting needles, sewing supplies, cross stitch embroidery threads, etc. etc. So do you know what its intended use is, and you're testing us? ;)
Hi Jen, I think it is a napkin box with handle. Just knot the ribbons other way to get the form of a box. Somethin like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/28559370/christmas-sale-fabric-baskets-set-of-2 but with ribbons and a handle. My best wishes for you and your family in this new year 2011. Nikë
Antoinette -- LOL! I honestly have no idea what it is. But we did use it to carry licorice in. Nike: I tried tying it into a box and I think you've got it! It worked, with a little handle! Charlotte: It's actually only about the size of a checkbook, so I don't think bread would fit. Even as a napkin holder, it would only hold the small beverage napkins.
Thank you all for your suggestions! I was dying of curiousity!

It looks like a bread carrier. When you make homemade bread and want to take some where you put it in this
